Installation and Activation of EMS Microsoft 365 Web Add-In
Learn how to install and activate EMS for Outlook – Microsoft 365.
Prerequisites
For EMS M365 Web Add-In 226.2, you need to uninstall the old version and reinstall the latest version of the manifest file.
Install EMS for Outlook – Microsoft 365

From the downloads portal, download Ems.Web.Addin.msi.

Run the .msi file on your application server.

Enter the full path for the installation location and click Next.

Enter your environment's Platform Services URL and the virtual directory name you want. Click Next.

Click Install. You might be asked to provide admin consent.
On-prem Customers
Option 1:
On-premises customers should follow the same process as cloud customers to connect to EMS's Entra App instance.

Download the Manifest: Use the following URLs:

Whitelist the following IP addresses in your firewall based on your hosted region to connect to EMS Platform Services:

Option 2:
Create an Entra App.

Create an App Registration at your tenant in Microsoft Entra ID.

In the Authentication Menu, add the Single-page Application platform.

Add the following Redirect URIs:
-
The URI of your app (for example, https://myaddress.com)

A special URI to grant Outlook access: (for example, brk-multihub://myaddress.com)

Provide the MSI installer with the Application ID from the overview page.

Install Ems.Web.Addin.msi with the addition of the App Id in the Platform Service URL during installation.

Download the Manifest. Use the following URL:

On-prem customers: https://<YourCompany>.com/EmsWebAddin/manifest.xml

The manifest file is hosted at the installation directory of the web add-in: app_url/manifest.xml

Activate/Enable EMS M365 web add-in
We recommend enabling the EMS for Outlook – Microsoft 365 add-in for a small set of users first to test the add-in before enabling it for the entire team.
If you upload the manifest file manually, make sure you use the latest Outlook add-in manifest file. Older versions can prevent the add-in from working as expected.
For End Users

Install the Add-in:

Click https://aka.ms/olksideload to open Outlook add-in management.

Click My add-ins.
-
Click Add a custom add-in.
-
Select Add from File....
-
Upload the downloaded manifest file.

Click Install. If Outlook shows a warning about adding a custom add-in, select Install to continue.

For Exchange Administrators (Enabling for Entire Organization)

Go to Microsoft 365 Admin Center (https://admin.cloud.microsoft/), the select Settings > Integrated apps. Or directly to Integrated apps via this link: https://admin.cloud.microsoft/#/Settings/IntegratedApps

In Deployed apps menu, select Upload custom apps.

In Upload custom app fill the information:

For App type select Office Add-in
-
Select Provide link to manifest file.

Insert the manifest URL for either Production (https://emsoutlookweb-zue-pr.emscloudservice.com/manifest ) or Sandbox (https://emsoutlookweb-zue-ua.emscloudservice.com/manifest)

Click Validate.
The Manifest file is validated and appears below the URL field.

Select Next, specify the users you wish to be granted access to the add-in:

Just me
-
Entire organization
-
Specific users/groups
-

On the next screen, review and accept the app permissions. Then selectNext.

Review the selected settings:

Apps to deploy: Outlook

Assigned users
If the information is correct, select Finish deployment.
Deployment of the manifest file can take up to 72 hours. During this time, you can’t use the M365 Web Add-in until the manifest is uploaded or updated.
To change user assignments, manage the add-in within Integrated apps.

Customers utilizing the EMS Entra App
Action Required:

Work with Professional Services or Support to provide allowable domains for EMS for Outlook web add-in connection.
